Alabama is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States of America. Alabama ranks 30th in total land area and ranks second
in the size of its inland waterways. The state ranks 23rd in population with almost 4.6 million residents in 2006.
Alabama is unofficially nicknamed the Yellowhammer State, after the state bird. Alabama is also known as the "Heart of Dixie". The state tree
is the Longleaf Pine, the state flower is the Camellia. The capital of Alabama is Montgomery. The largest city by population is Birmingham.
The largest city by total land area is Huntsville. The oldest city is Mobile, founded by French colonists.
Our collection of State Coloring pages represents an accumulation of current and historical state demographic information and additional
points of interest or customs of each of the states. In many cases the demographic information found on the state outline maps should be
considered as "historical background" in nature and may not be current. This however does provide an interesting perspective of how the states
have developed and progressed during the 20 century.
Please note, we gladly accept submissions from state and local government agencies and departments (Department(s) of tourism, agriculture, etc.)
for display of additional state coloring pages on our site. In addition we accept submissions from established and recognized industries, or local
places of interest (cities, parks, attractions) that may make available quality content that is specific to a particular state. Contact us if
you have the capability and authority to provide such content, we would be happy to promote your state, city, attraction, event, etc.!
