American Space Flight coloring pages - John Glenn orbits

John Glenn was the third American to fly in a Mercury capsule to the edge of space however; the previous 2 flights did not orbit the earth. Friendship 7 (the name of the third Mercury rocket), flew on February 20, 1962 and made 3 orbits of the earth then splashed down in the Atlantic ocean.

Note:(The Soviet Union had already placed a cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, in orbit on Vostok 1 in April 12, 1961 and Gherman Titov in August 6, 1961)
